TIL In 1997, Eminem went to L.A to compete in the Rap Olympics, a nationwide battle rap competition. He came in second, losing to rapper Otherwize, but impressed Interscope Records who brought a copy of SSEP back to Jimmy Lovine who played it for Dr. Dre who signed him to his label Aftermath.
