Premature birth

My partner just gave birth to our son at 28 weeks and 4 days. We are happy to report he is doing great, weighs 3 lb 1oz, 16″ long and can breath on his own. I am posting to say anything can happen. As first time parents we had no idea that he’d be born so prematurely. Her pregnancy was going great all the way up until the last few days when she got serious pelvic pain. No family history and preexisting conditons for premature birth. It just never crossed our minds even as we raced to the hospital yesterday at 330am. When we arrived to the hospital she was already 6cm dilated. Everything came so fast and she delivered him at 1134am. What a day! via /r/NewParents https://ift.tt/8aIKSUv
