What the title says. My LO has been making some sounds since 4 months, but from one day to the other (just turned 8 months) she’s constantly babbling while playing, eating, anything. She can string a few different sounds like “daaaadaaadaaa” to “beeeeebeeebeeee”. It’s SO. DAMN. CUTE. When she looks at me and she makes these sounds like she’s trying to speak, I melt. It’s like a dopamine rush, makes me feel like this must be true happiness (until I get tired of it?). Who knows. When our littles are teething, it’s normal for their appetites to dip as they might feel uncomfortable because their teeth are coming in. It’s also common for gag reflexes to resurface due to the discomfort. Soothing sore gums prior to mealtimes can sometimes be helpful. You can try cold celery, frozen waffles since they defrost quickly, other frozen foods like fruit and vegetables are a choking hazard and should never be offered to our littles, frozen teething rings with liquid inside should also be avoided because they become too hard for babies gums (per AAP), but frozen popsicles and ice cream are fine as occasional treats to help with sore gums. What we usually do when my little guy is teething, (my son still only has 7 teeth and he’s 16 months, lol) is I make soup for him and I take soft bread and dip it into the soup so that he can eat it more comfortably that way. He loves it and it’s much easier on his gums and he loves it. I usually buy a whole chicken at the store, cut it up as best as I can and boil the entire chicken in our Dutch oven for a couple hours, and then the soup is just soooo delicious. I throw in some veggies about half-way through and they cook down nice and soft too, it’s super delicious and I don’t bother adding any salt to it so he can have as much of it as he wants. Here’s that recipe, too – Teething Chicken Noodle Soup4-5 bone-in chicken thighs 5-6 bone-in chicken legs A large head of celery trimmed5 peeled whole carrots 2 medium to large onions halved 8 cups water 2 heaping tablespoons of knorr chicken boullion 2 bay leaves 1 box of orzo All the garlic as your heart desires (peeled and whole)In a heavy bottom pot, place all ingredients into pot – cook on medium heat for 2 hours. After two hours, pull all chicken skin and meat off of bones, discard bones and skin and chop chicken to desired pieces. Remove all veggies, place into food processor or blender with a cup of broth from the pot. Blend all the veggies to puree, and add all puree back to the pot. Continue cooking for another 30 minutesServe over rice or orzo for best experience or any other cooked pasta. (this is obviously a large batch, which you can freeze in portions for future teething spells when they arise. Every time I try and cook something for my baby I feel like it’s SO bland since I don’t add salt to her food. I tried making her salmon, peas, and brown rice the other day and it literally had no flavor. I used a bit of garlic powder but even then it was bland and she didn’t want to eat it. I try putting some cheese on her food to give it more flavor as well.I’ve never been a great cook to begin with, but I can make a few solid dishes. Basically my little one is in a phase of refusing various random foods and just spits it out . So I cooked a batch of lentils today with veggies ,mashed them and put them back in a jar with a lid ( one of those baby food jars you get in the supermarket) I did a big show of removing the jar and opening the top and feeding her from the jar and she gobbled it 😅😅😅 Basically I learnt that if she sees me cook then it’s a no but if she sees it’s from a food jar then hell yes 🙈🙈🙈🙈Not sure if it helps others ,but just wanted to share . My wife is going to Brazil with our toddler in January. We have family there and she wants them to meet our baby.She upgraded her sit to those ones with more space and where you can request a baby crib. We did that through Air Canada app, and paid the extra fee. No issues here.To request the baby crib, the Air Canada website says that we need to call them, and we did.The guy from Air Canada while requesting the crib, which is free, asked if we paid the fee for the baby, we thought it was free, but apparently for international flight we have to pay. Our baby is 4 months old (will be 6 in January).He said that we had to pay 788 CAD. Which I thought extremely expensive for a fee, but I had no idea so we paid. When I got the payment in my credit card, I saw 2 charges, one from Air Canada 188$ and one from Travelia Corp. 600$. Really weird, but since we called Air Canada to the number listed in their website, I didn’t imagine it could be a scam.Yesterday, having lunch with friends, they said they travelled recently with Air Canada and only paid around 200$. I was pissed I had to pay almost 800$.Today I called Air Canada, and they said they only charged the 188$ and they can’t do anything about it the other charge because it was not them. I opened a dispute with them and asked for the supervisor return to us with the recording of the phone call.I also opened a dispute with my credit card saying I was scammed.I think this is an absurd situation. An employee from a huge Canadian company doing scams in their behalf?
