We’ll be traveling from Montreal to Fort Lauderdale with our 8.5 month old in less than 3 weeks. We did not purchase a seat for him, he will be seating on our laps as the flight is pretty short.Travel time: 3 hours at the airport + 3.5 hour flight + whatever time at the airportWhat are your must haves for everything to go smoothly, other than the typical diapers, wipes, clothes, formula, etc.?Here’s what I have for now:- Sound-proof earmuffs- Baby carrier (Ergo Baby 360)- Will be renting a stroller that will fit on the plane (Ergo Baby Metro+)- Spinning toys that stick to things- Mum mum cookies for easy entertainment lol- Cloths to soak in hot water and put over his ears in case they start hurtingNote: My parents are picking us up at the airport with a car seat – we’re not bringing one. Well the thing I feared happened. My LO is almost a year and he already has SEVEN teeth. The last 6-8 weeks have been hell for his gums and my nips and just now it’s finally gotten better. So I’m gonna share with you the method no one told me that finally helped my baby piranha stop biting. First off, this method won’t work with a small baby. They need to have some understanding of words in order for this method to stop biting for good. And I seriously can’t believe this isn’t talked about more… but it turns out if you teach your baby to bite you then can teach them to NOT bite! Of course telling your baby “don’t bite” is recommended to stop biting but my baby literally didn’t know wtf I meant and would keep biting me when I said don’t bite! Lately every time I offer him a snack I ask “do you want a bite?”. I’ve stopped cutting up certain things and just holding it for him and telling him “take a bite” and when he’s not biting hard enough to break the food I’ll cheer him on saying “bite bite bite” . Followed by lots of praise ofc. Then when we’re nursing, if he bites me I shake my head, do no in sign language and say “no don’t bite boobie that really hurts”. After a week or so of doing all of that, the biting dramatically decreased. Now I’m happy to say that we’ve been a whole week without a nipple chomp! I really hope this helps someone because seriously if my baby would take bottles, the nipple biting would’ve ended our nursing journey. via /r/breastfeeding https://ift.tt/GzT0Owh
