Just wanted to relay an experience I had on Saturday evening….

Driving home from work on Highway 28 about 10 minutes north of Port Hope, I lost control of my vehicle and ended up well off the road. Only some soreness and bruising, I know it should have been far worse. The main reason for this post is to acknowledge and thank the at least 15 drivers who stopped and made sure I was OK, if I needed gloves or a touque, etc. Literally bringing a tear to my eye. This is the side of humanity I live for. Big shout out of thanks goes to John, who stopped and stayed with me until the tow truck came, letting me sit in his vehicle, warm up and calm down. These small gestures made a crappy situation that much more bearable. John went above and beyond and has some really good karma going his way. Final shout out of thanks to the tow truck guy (Evan, I think) who managed to pull me out pretty quickly considering the weather. I have a lot more empathy towards tow truck drivers and people who work outside in general after this. So much negativity in the world, these acts of kindness demonstrate the other side. Stay safe and vigilant on the roads, let the road and weather conditions dictate your speed. And again, big big thanks to everyone who stopped and especially John. Have a great day peoples!
