Is this normal in serbia?

Good morning serbia,i visited friends in serbia who lived in a village. One day I was bored and decided to go for a walk. I’m learning Serbian but I still speak it very badly. A man was sitting on a bench and as I walked past him he asked me where I was from and that he had never seen me before. Then he invited me to his house, he caught fish and wanted to invite me to eat fish. I’m from Germany and my first thought was that he wants to lure me into his house and kill me. I told my friends about this encounter, they assured me that this is normal in Serbia.Is this really part of Serbian culture? via /r/serbia https://ift.tt/OYCxX4u
