How in the F*** are young couple supposed to buy a place to live without their mommy and daddy getting a second mortgage for them?

I think it’s sad more than anything, say you and your partner could afford the mortgage for a 200k house, right now if you put in a offer for their asking price they’ll tell you someone from Toronto came and offered 500k for the place, who will just rent it out or tear it down. Young couples who don’t somehow have amazing jobs in their early 20s are completely screwed.
