Data: Global house prices from the Economist

The Economist has a cool interactive graph showing house price data from countries around the world (including Canada) going back to 1970, both nominal and real (inflation-adjusted).US house prices peaked in Q1 2006, at 50% higher than Q1 2000 prices, and they still haven’t fully recovered (15 years later).Canada’s house prices are now 170% higher than Q1 2000 prices. So they’re way more overheated than the pre-2008 US housing bubble.Check out South Korea and Japan, which build enough housing to keep house prices stable. via /r/canadahousing https://ift.tt/3hqO6y6
