Discussion: Audiobooks vs Podcasts

Would like to get a conversation started about audiobooks vs podcasts. I’m a huge podcast fan but haven’t been able to get into audiobooks and I don’t really know why.I listen to a lot of narrative podcasts and the serialized/investigative journalism type of podcasts. So basically anything done by a producer who has ever worked for This American Life/NPR and then some others. I’m not big on fiction podcasts, even though I’ve wanted to try.Right now I’m really interested in the 1984 audiobook but I’m afraid to spend the money because I’ve just never gotten into audiobooks. I don’t know why. Maybe because I tried crappy ones? For people who listen to bothWhat is the difference to you?Do you listen in different settings/ways?What do you get out of podcasts and what do you get out of audiobooks? Also, are there any audiobooks that kinda remind you of a popular podcast? For people who don’t listen to AudiobooksWhy do you think you don’t?Would you like to get into them or not?edit: added another question via /r/podcasts https://ift.tt/2E3ZTAI
