The situation going on in Canada convinced me to apply for German citizenship.

I have been living in Germany for 6 years with my wife, and today I went to the city hall and submitted my documents to apply for the citizenship. However this will require me to renounce Canadian citizenship once I get the German one. What led me to this decision is that Canada is no longer the place it was, there are very few jobs which are low paying, and combined with the low pay you also have out of touch housing prices. Also, I love living in Europe and I have no desire to return to Canada, (I want to add that my line of work is very in demand in Europe).
